Elizabeth Richmond

I have been with Beechmont Chiropractic Center for over 14 years. I graduated from S.H.I. (Self Health Inc.) Medical Massage School in Lebanon, Ohio and became licenced in May of 2001. I enjoy working in a Chiropractic atmosphere and I feel massage has a lot to offer many of the patients receiving Chiropractic care and vice versa. I am able to work closely with the Doctor on certain patients and can assist in these patient's treatment/recovery by offering massage or other soft tissue treatments such as Positional Release or Muscle Energy Techniques when needed. This enables the patients to heal quicker with greater range of motion, flexibility and strength. I also see clients who are not Chiropractic patients as well as patients of other Chiropractic offices. I enjoy helping people and seeing them get well.

In my spare time, I am involved with community activities and church. I like to travel and spend time with my family and friends.

I am experienced in and utilize many different types of massage. I continue to advance my knowledge of massage with frequent continuing education classes. Below is a brief description of each type of massage offered;

Swedish Massage - A scientific application of soft tissue manipulation utilized in the treatment and prevention of structural and functional disorders.

Relaxational - A gentle technique that is used to promote relaxation and well being.

Myofascial Release - A gentle technique that is used to release the fibrous connective tissue that surrounds and permeates all muscles.

Muscle Energy Technique - Primarily targets the soft tissues, although it makes a major contribution towards joint mobilization.

Positional Release - A technique that stimulates the natural healing process of the body, by gently repositioning a region of the body to achieve neurological and circulatory changes, which lead to improved function and reduced pain.

Myoneural Therapy - Incorporating the techniques of positioning release, CST, and myofascial release to treat such conditions and TMJD and whiplash.

Deep Tissue - A massage prodedure applied deep enough to influence the muscles.

Hot Stone Massage - Using heated stones as tools, as well as for placement, to provide a deep sense of relaxation.
